What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to your account. After entering your password, you'll also need to enter a time-based code from an authenticator app. Even if someone obtains your password, they can't sign in without access to your device.
What you'll need
An authenticator app on your phone or computer. Popular options include:
Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
Authy (iOS / Android / Desktop)
1Password
Microsoft Authenticator
Enabling 2FA
Sign in to Avpro Connect and go to Account (top-right menu).
Scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication section and click Enable 2FA.
Enter your current password to confirm it's you.
A QR code will appear. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code to add Avpro Connect.
Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm the setup.
Save your backup codes. You'll be shown a set of single-use backup codes — store these somewhere safe (password manager, printed copy). You'll need them if you ever lose access to your authenticator app.
Click Done. 2FA is now active on your account.
Signing in with 2FA
After enabling 2FA, each sign-in with a password will require a verification code:
Enter your email and password as normal.
When prompted, open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code for Avpro Connect.
Click Verify.
Using a backup code
If you can't access your authenticator app (e.g., lost your phone), you can use one of your saved backup codes:
On the 2FA prompt, click Use a backup code.
Enter one of your saved backup codes.
Important: Each backup code can only be used once. If you run low on backup codes, disable and re-enable 2FA to generate a new set.
Disabling 2FA
Go to Account and scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication section.
Click Disable 2FA.
Enter your current password to confirm.
2FA will be removed from your account immediately.
Lost access to your authenticator and backup codes?
If you can no longer access your account, contact Avpro support to have your 2FA reset by an administrator.
